Westridge Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Saskatoon team. This role is responsible for overseeing and delivering commercial and civil construction projects of varying size and complexity, from early planning through to completion.


The Project Manager plays a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Westridge quality standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery

  • Manage and oversee the planning and execution of multiple commercial and civil construction projects from start to finish
  • Review and analyze contracts to mitigate risk and protect Westridge’s interests
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure adherence to safety protocols
  • Ensure projects meet established timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve issues and optimize project delivery
  • Identify potential project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to address challenges effectively


Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial and civil construction sector
  • Track upcoming opportunities to support future capacity and resourcing decisions
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors


Team Leadership

  • Supervise and lead project teams, including project coordinators and superintendents
  • Monitor team capacity and workload to support effective project execution
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment through guidance, support, and mentorship


Client Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects
  • Work with clients to understand project requirements, expectations, and objectives
  • Provide regular project updates to clients, stakeholders, and senior management

 

Financial Management

  • Manage project budgets, including monitoring costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring profitability
  • Collaborate with the finance team to review financial reports and support informed decision-making


Qualifications and Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a Technology Diploma (Architectural or Civil) is preferred but not required; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction project management
  • Proven track record in business development and estimating
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of construction processes, codes, and regulations
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to travel to project sites and client meetings as required
