The Ring Road Overpass at Victoria Avenue is one of the busiest streets in Regina having 60,000 cars travel it each day. Coordination of traffic diversions and detours occurred daily with 75% of the work completed at night. With having day and night shift crews this project was completed in just 16 weeks; typically, a 19 week project. Major items of work for this project included removal of the concrete approach slabs, abutment expansion joint assemblies, existing concrete bridge barriers and steel bridge rail, existing precast bridge girders and concrete deck overlay, and the existing bearings and anchor bolts. Items of installation included precast concrete panels installed using coil bolts, steel girders and bearings, partial depth precast concrete deck panels, concrete bridge deck and approach slabs, concrete barriers, waterproofing membrane and asphalt wearing surface, and galvanized steel bridge railing.
